At Calistoga Ranch, a passion for food, wine and good cheer is woven throughout every culinary experience…casual to elegant, intimate to immense. Under the imaginative direction of Chef Eric Webster, the cuisine is intrinsically linked to its rich surroundings. It is refined, yet hearty…special, yet sensible. Steeped in the Wine Country traditions of France and Italy, Calistoga Ranch offers unpretentious American cuisine that embraces organic ingredients from the farmers in Napa Valley and Northern California, while beautifully complementing the varied bounty of the local vintners.

For an essential integration and marriage of these flavors, the wines at Calistoga Ranch will be sophisticated, yet accessible; pairing perfectly with the seasonal tasting menus developed by the Chef. The wine and food will not only complement, but inspire each other…making the selection and interplay an integral part of the dining experience. Owners and their guests will enjoy exceptional vintages for exceptional moments from a variety of producers and regions. The list will include selections from the new and Old World classics to the California cults. Stored at ideal temperature and humidity in our custom-designed Wine Cave, our wine composition will be 60% California (with first emphasis on Napa, then Sonoma), 20% France, 7% Italy and 13% rest of the world.

The ambience of food, wine and celebration at Calistoga Ranch is most exquisitely expressed at the Lakehouse. Encased in tall panes of glass that reveal quiet woodlands and pastoral lakefront views, the Lakehouse offers gracious dining below open-beam ceilings and a canopy of amber lights. Since only members, their invited guests, and hotel guests are ever permitted on the Lakehouse guest list, the mood here pleases the most private of individuals.

For those who prefer to stay in, in-lodge catering is offered to both owners and guests. Owners may also arrange to have an Auberge-trained chef come to their lodge to create a romantic dinner or lavish party, or to host a personal culinary lesson for a select few. Plus, within the beautiful Calistoga Ranch grounds, we can help you with private parties at the Lakehouse or Wine Cave, and with larger events such as weddings. There are even two lakeside lodges that are perfect for small business meetings and private dining experiences.

From the moment one enters this magnificent vineyard retreat, there is a sense of being a part of the artistry…a process that begs to be shared. One may take an informative tour of the vineyard and wine-related facilities. Owners have access to personal wine lockers, where they can store their favorite vintages. The most reputable names from the local wine industry come here to host events and mingle with owners and guests.
But perhaps the most rewarding and unique opportunity to immerse in the wine culture awaits at the private vineyard. This is the chance to play viticulturist for a day…learning the art of pruning, participating in the crush, or bottling and corking select wines from Nils and Kirk Venge, the creators of the exclusive private label of Calistoga Ranch.
